Jappo is a Wolof word for 'all hands together'. Wolof is one of the languages of Senegal. Jappo is working for solidarity and prosperity among Senegalese in the Netherlands. Jappo organises cultural activities and its members do participate in socio-cultural activities organised by Dutch and African cultural centres. One of Jappo's focus points is the integration of the Senegalese into Dutch society without losing one's own identity and dignity. Jappo's members include culinary specialists, musicians, dancers, poets, painters and other artists.
