75 DEGREES - HEATWAVE/ 1K/ WRONG MC
PROD - DJ FINGAZ/ BALL D/ DJ MALACHI/ 75 DEGREES
LIVING ROOM RECORDS

I'm no tone of those whose always in the same mood and different moods require different sounds. So when I'm feeling happy its good to have some playful, non-commercial type tracks. This is where 75 Deg. from the O (oakland fool) come in. Thier material is the player/pimp funk laden variety. "Heatwave" had a voice quite reminiscent of Humpty and was hooked by DJ Fingaz (hey when you sending that prodcut) Sorry had to get that outta my system. "wrong me" is all thick basslines and bumping beats (for the trunk). The emcees alternate between rapidfire and smooth flow. No comples stuff here and all the hooks are delivered in a singy type steelo. No I'm not mad at them cause theres place in hip hop for all types of groups with different styles, flows and mental states. Different is good!

JOEY CHAVEZ - AFTER THE HEAT
PROD - JOEY CHAVEZ
ABB REC

If you've read any of the previous reviews of ABB material, you just may be noticing a trend? Let me reassure you that I'm not on the payroll and what can I do when it seems like they dont wanna release anything wack? Mr. Chavez is a dope up-n-coming producer who was snatched by Beni and Co. and this single is meant to showcase joey's abilities on the boards while featuring some of ABBs artists. Its clear that he'll be getting lots of work in the future as all the tracks are nice and we even get a bonus beat for measure. "Reservation for one" features the scientist of innovation, Evidence and he's no slouch on the lyric. However Defari steal s the show on the hot to death cut "develop tools". For the hardheads I'll explain that the track is about perfecting your skills but adding insult is a turntable minipulated quote from Guru "while they be sweating and pretendin that they know a real rap sound" Dj Revolution in effect! Defari is so inspired here simply slicing the competition to bits and he makes it seem so effortless. This has to be one of the best tracks I've heard. I just played this at a party and the way the track is crafted had the emcees and deejays wide open! "the chills" features the other dilated person Iriscience so check for that as well. All round goodness is what you get from this single, bumrush your record store.

WALKMEN - FORTRUSS/COUNTDOWN THEORY/COUNTDOWN RMX
PROD - CELP TITLED CYBERTEK

All you Star Wars crazy backpackers have to hear this cut called "fortruss". It samples a pretty obvious section of the movie and is quite enjoyable even thought the emcees arent breaking any barriers. "countdown theory" is a complete change in flava with its dramatic strings and phat Meth vocal sample from "how high" Although I didnt pay it much attention something strange happened when I played it on the radio, I got requests to play it again. Hmmm could I be wrong? Anyhow I'm keeping with my feeling and going with the remix as my favourite. This time the track has guitar samples, is a bit slower and still retains the Meth sample.
