BUC 50 - METALS ADVOCATE/ PERMENENT SCARS
PROD THE ALCHEMIST (BATTLE REC)

Anyone remember a kid by the name of Buckwead from the Wascalz. He appeared on Pharcyde's "Bizarre ride" album. I'm not sure if ole Bucky Luciano remembers as its a str8t up change in style for him. In 99 Buc sports the backpack-thug/ gambino steelo over 2 Alchemist produced tracks. The A side is a take on Devil's Advocate complete with movie soundbites and dramatic violin section. On the B we get the guest vocals of that other underground fav, Agallah (8Off) and these 2 combine well with that venom to add to the track that Alc cooked up. Believe me any gambino emcee would kill for a track like this. B-side wins again!

RAWKUS TEST PRESSING FEATURING - TALIB KWELI, MOS DEF, SHABAAM SAHDEEQ

Dont even ask me how I got this. I'm not telling. Suffice it to say that this piece of black gold got new tracks from the above mentioned artists.
Talib must be the initial point of focus as once again he and DJ Hi-tek come up with a winner. This one has a reggae feel to it with guitar licks and a simple bassline. Talib is on about human nature on the track called "human element" The hook gets nice nice with some cuts and scratches.
The Mighty Mos Def gears up for his album release offering "hip hop" on here. Dante takes time to discuss his subject thoroughly. First taking the braggadocio stance and schoolin em fools with his trademark voice and true school refferances. In verse 2 he flips it and deals with the pimping of the artform, calling it "the olympic sponsor of the black glock" and warnings about the shady industry "the industry just a better built cell block" Damn!
The honours of tightest track goes to Sahdeeqy. Thats right the 5 star general comes with "are U ready" an amped up Alchemist produced gem. From the opening horns to the end theis cut does not quit and the sinister voice keeps spitting till the end. If you thought "soundclash" was nice this is totally off the hook!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
