African art and culture has spread throughout the Diaspora. This changed the way of thinking within the western art world completely. Cultural diversity is a reality in the art world of today.

The (art) institutions and galleries in The Netherlands part of the survey we present here, are for that reason not only African oriented organizations - they show active involvement and participate actively within the field of non-western art.
The connection between the organizations and artists in Africa and in Europe is important. With this survey we take a first step into that direction.
