Afrika Nieuws stelt vijf vragen aan AITP directeur Heidi Lobato 8 Sep 2006 - Africa in the picture |
Heidi Lobato is de nieuwe festival directeur van 'Africa in the Picture'. Sinds 2001 is zij betrokken bij de organisatie van het festival en werkte tijdens de vorige festivaledities nauw samen met oprichtster Marïet Bakker.
A:‘Het woord "tradition" komt van het Latijnse woord "traditio" en betekent overgeven van taal, bepaalde gebruiken en cultuur. We zien dat Afrikaanse filmmakers enorm op zoek zijn naar verschillende manieren waarop zij hun verhaal willen vertellen. Wij geven met deze editie van het' Africa in the Picture'-festival een platform aan vooral zelfstandige film- en documentairemakers die met weinig middelen toch mooie en enorm interessante producties maken.’
