Africa. Are you interested in Sub-Saharan Africa and is your Masters thesis on a related subject? If so, the African Studies Centre (ASC) in Leiden is offering you the chance to win €1000 in its Africa Thesis Award!
The award consists of a prize of €1000 for the winning thesis, which will be published in the ASC African Studies Collection.
Deadline is 17 June 2011.

Rwanda. Van 4 tot en met 10 september 2010 zijn topsporters en Right To Play ambassadeurs Barbara de Loor (voormalig schaatster) en Femke Heemskerk (zwemster) op bezoek geweest bij sport- en spelprojecten van Right To Play in Rwanda. Barbara en Femke gaven onder andere sportclinics aan Rwandeese jongeren in Kigali. Hieronder een korte impressie. Read more

Africa, Angola, Namibia. The prettiest sky at night in the world can be found in Africa. In the South of Angola and the North of Namibia, at 16 degrees South, to be precise. Here, for a couple of months a year the Milky Way is so bright that you might feel that you can touch it. Being an astronomer in Africa is a bit of a lonely profession. Most colleagues are in the West and when you talk about stars and planets, people look at you wondering if you are mad. But Africa needs stargazers. Read more
