Promotie: From Genes to Behaviour: Diagnosis, genetic and phenotypic architecture and environmental influences of neurodevelopmental disabilities in Africa

Neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs), including autism and intellectual disability, are prevalent in lower- and middle-income countries (LMICs), yet research has primarily been focused on high-income settings. This series of studies aims to address this gap by investigating the diagnosis, genetic and environmental risk factors, and screening tools for NDDs in children across Africa, specifically in Kenya and South Africa.
