The Brother Moves On is een kunstcollectief uit oorspronkelijk Johannesburg, waar inmiddels steeds meer musici bij zijn aansloten. De performances zijn explosief, sociaal bewogen en vol poëzie en spoken word. Vocalist Siyabonga Mthembu werkte mee aan het spraakmakende album Wisdom of Elders van Shabaka & The Ancestors. ‘The Brother’s sound is a tradition-trouncing trans-Atlantic Afro-centric futuristically ancient fusion that jackknifes between offworld spectral dub-metal, hyperrhythmic rock psychedelia, indie-township and astro-afro-free-jazz. Taking a cue from that other “Brother From Another Planet” Sun Ra they embrace a multi-genre, multimedia aesthetic’ (Pan African Space Station). Het programma van het International Documentary Filmfestival Amsterdam (IDFA 2022) is bekend. Ook dit jaar weer redelijk veel documentaires over Afrika, en zelfs een aantal geproduceerd in Afrika.
