This thesis aims to formulate an in-depth understanding of the roles of experts and expert-based information in unstructured environmental policy problem contexts, with a particular focus on the acid mine drainage (AMD) policy controversy located in the Witwatersrand Goldfields of Gauteng, South Africa.

This year, our friends from ๐๐ณ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ focus on the ๐ฑ๐ฌ๐๐ต ๐ฎ๐ป๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ of five African countries โ ๐๐ป๐ด๐ผ๐น๐ฎ, ๐ ๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฏ๐ถ๐พ๐๐ฒ, ๐๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฒ ๐ฉ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฒ, ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ผ ๐ง๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ & ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฒ and the ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ โ as well as ๐ฆ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐บ๐ฒ. During the festival, they will reflect on the ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ถ-๐ฐ๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ป๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐๐ฟ๐๐ด๐ด๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐บ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ in these countries to resist and overthrow colonial rule throughout the 20th century and until the present day.
