French-Senegalese artist anaiis writes transportive progressive soul aglow with cosmic daydreaming and illuminated with inner knowledge. Inspired by Maya Angelou, Nina Simone, Octavia Butler and bell hooks (anaiis keeps her name in lowercase as a tribute to hooks), she uses her influences to build out multi-disciplinary works that invite us to sit between something fantastical and grounded all at once.

Museum de Fundatie presenteert de eerste Nederlandse museale solotentoonstelling van Buhlebezwe Siwani. Siwani werkt met performance, fotografie, beeldhouwkunst en installaties. Ze onderzoekt de manier waarop het zwarte vrouwelijke lichaam geframed wordt in een door mannen gedomineerde samenleving. Ook staat de zwarte vrouwelijke ervaring binnen de context van Zuid-Afrika centraal.

In november 2025 heeft Museum de Fundatie de bronzen plaquette uit Benin onvoorwaardelijk teruggegeven, wat een belangrijke stap is in het onder ogen zien van het koloniale verleden. Deze teruggave vormt de basis van de tentoonstelling Back to Benin: Nieuwe Kunst, Eeuwenoud Erfgoed, waarin tien hedendaagse Nigeriaanse kunstenaars van Edo-afkomst samen komen. Door middel van nieuwe werken die zijn geïnspireerd op de plaquette gaan de kunstenaars in dialoog met de geschiedenis, symboliek en culturele herinnering.

Sexy is geen norm. Het is een keuze. In Reclaiming Sexy onderzoekt fotograaf Ajiri Ogbovoh hoe queer vrouwen zich verhouden tot lichaam, verlangen en zichtbaarheid. Ajiri Ogbovoh is een Almeerse Nederlands-Nigeriaanse fotograaf die in haar werk ongelijkheid, vooroordelen en maatschappelijke verwachtingen onderzoekt en uitdaagt.
