‘Tamala - Joel Rabesolo & Justin Vali feat. Ballaké Sissoko’

For many years, Senegalese kora player Bao Sissoko has had the successful trio Tamala ("travellers") with his compatriot Mola Sylla on vocals and Belgian violinist Wouter Vandenabeele. For this concert, they will be joined by another Belgian musician: harmonica player and guitarist Olivier Vander Bauwede.

Joel Rabesolo's virtuoso guitar style draws heavily on Malagasy melodies. Especially for Kora Days, he enters into dialogue with that national heritage, forming a duo with valiha and marovany player Justin Vali. As the cherry on top, at their premiere they invite Senegalese kora player Ballaké Sissoko to play some songs with them.
